Roof windows
A window in the roof changes the whole room.
Roof windows do more for a loft or an extension than any other single change. Twice the daylight of a vertical window of the same size, and none of the privacy issues. Fitted properly, they’re weathertight for decades and don’t need much attention beyond the occasional clean.
We fit Velux and Fakro roof windows across Bristol. Cutting the structural opening, weathering it in, and making good the internal reveal are all handled by our team. If you’re re-roofing, adding roof windows at the same time is far cheaper than doing it as a separate job later.

Do I need planning permission for a Velux in Bristol?
For most Bristol homes, roof windows fitted flush to the slope don't need planning permission and are covered by Permitted Development. Conservation areas and listed buildings are different, and we'll flag it if that applies to you.
Can you add a Velux to my existing roof?
Yes. We can retrofit roof windows into an existing tiled or slate roof. It's a one-day job for a single window in most cases, or a day per window on a bigger install.
Velux or Fakro, which do you recommend?
Velux has the wider range and better parts availability if you ever need a replacement pane or blind. Fakro tends to be a bit cheaper. Either is fine when installed well.
Can you fit blinds too?
Yes. Blackout, roller and pleated blinds can all be fitted at install time. Doing them together saves a second visit later.
How long does installation take?
One to two days for a single roof window in an existing roof. Fitting several at once, or fitting during a re-roof, is quicker per window.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. The window itself carries the manufacturer's warranty. On top of that we guarantee the installation and the flashing detail.
