Fascias and bargeboards
The front and end boards that finish the roof edge and hold the guttering. Rotten timber stripped, new uPVC fitted.
Fascias, soffits and bargeboards are the timber trim that runs along the edge of the roof. They finish the roof off, hold the guttering, and let the loft breathe. On most Bristol homes they haven’t been touched in twenty or thirty years, and by that point the timber underneath the paint is often rotten through.
We strip the old timber back to sound structure and replace with quality uPVC in the colour of your choice. Anthracite grey is by far the most popular finish at the moment, and it suits both period and modern properties. If your guttering is old cast iron with rust runs down the wall, or plastic that’s sagged out of line, this is the natural moment to renew it too.

Doing the whole run at once costs less and looks better than piecemeal replacement.

The horizontal board under the fascia. Vented uPVC lets the loft breathe, which prevents condensation and keeps the roof structure dry.
Guttering and downpipes replaced at the same time where needed. Cladding on gable ends or dormer cheeks in matching finish.
A proper strip-and-replace, not a cover-board bodge over rotten timber.
How you can tell it's time to sort it out.
