Traditional slate roof with a bonnet dormer.

A traditional slate re-roof using natural Spanish slate, with a bonnet-style dormer and full lead work. Insulation upgraded in the rafters to current Building Regs.

The brief

Natural slate, done the traditional way.

A bonnet-dormer terrace needed a traditional slate roof — the kind of job where tile matching, bonnet detailing and clean lead work matter more than speed.

We used natural Spanish slate for the covering, re-detailed the bonnet dormer in slate to match, and renewed all the lead work from scratch. The insulation between the rafters was upgraded to current Building Regs at the same time.

Finished with the CORC 10-year Insurance-Backed Guarantee on the whole roof.
